We were asked by the TI Arts Center in Clayton, NY to develop a new, multi-level arts center that would welcome rotating exhibits, large community events, office space and workshops. The design was inspired by historic commercial buildings in the area. We did research on historic buildings at the TI Museum and borrowed details from multiple historic structures. We worked to hold the street facade at a two-story structure to be in keeping with the residential scale of the structures next door. The third floor is set back 30’ from the front facade, which also creates an outdoor roof terrace for gatherings.
